Our topic this half term is How can we light a dark winters night?
As scientists we will be observing changes acorss the four seasons and describing the weather associated witht them. We will be indentifying different manmade and natural light sources.
As historians we will be exploring the significant historical event of the moon landing and discussing the life of Katherine Johsnon and her contribution towards a national achievement.
As geographers we will be identifying seasonal and daily weather patterns in the United Kingdom.
As designers we will be making masterpieces using in natural resources in the style of Andy Goldsworthy.
We will be focusing on the British Value of Individual Liberty this half term which will also link to our Children's Rights:
27: I have the right to access education.
28: I have the right to food, clothing and a safe home.
Additional information
We hve PE every Thursday and Friday this half term. Children are to wear their PE kit to school on these days. PE kit includes white t shirt, black jogging bottoms, black pumps/trainers and school cardigan/jumper.
Please bring book bag in everyday. Make sure you write in your child's reading record everytime you read with them.
This half term as part of our diverse curriculum we will be looking at Andy Goldsworthy.
Goldsworthy is a British artist who works with nature to produce artworks. Using natural materials—snow, ice, leaves, bark, rock, clay, stones, feathers petals, twigs—he creates outdoor sculpture. Before they disappear, or as they disappear, Goldsworthy records his work in photographs.
