Welcome to Year 2W

Miss Waddell, Miss Hussain and Miss Boulton

This half term we will be learning about The Great Fire of London and learning about materials in science.. 

Q1 – Whiat's the story? We will be thinking about questions we want answered about the Great Fire of London and looking at the order of events over the 5 days.

Q2 – Why did London burn? We will be investigating why London burned so quickly and will be designing our own Tudor houses.

Q3 – What's the difference between firefighters now and then? We will be comparing firefightters in the present and past and looking at similarities and differences.

Q4 – Who write about the Great Fire? We will be learning about Samuel Pepys and the important role he played in the Great Fire.

Q5 – Why was St Paul's so important? We will be learning why St Paul's was important and creating artwork inspired by Paul Klee.

Q6 – The Great Quiz. We will be showing what we have learned by creating quiz questions for our friends to answer.

This half term we will be looking at the life of Samuel Pepys and the important role he played during thr Great Fire of London.

Rights Respecting School:

As a Rights Respecting School we will be looking at Article 7 of the Children charter  -

Other information:

PE kit should be brought into school at the start of every half term and stay in school. It will be sent home at the end of the half term to be cleaned and should be brought back in after the school holiday. PE kit is a white tshirt and black jogging bottoms or leggings with trainers. 

Reading books and reading diaries should be brought into school everyday. 

Spelling and maths homework will be given out every Friday.
