Autmn one

Our question this half term is:

How dark were the suffragettes?

As part of our diverse curriculum we will research a famous suffregette called Emily Pankhurst.

Emmeline Pankhurst (1858–1928) was a leader of the British suffragette movement and an activist for women’s rights. Her 40-year campaign to secure equal voting rights for women became a reality just days after her death in 1928.

Areas of Learning

As Historians we will look at the struggle that women had over a 100 years ago to receive the vote and how it now forms one of our British Values of DEMOCRACY .

As Scientists we will investigate light and dark. How are shadows made?

As Artists we will use shadows to make art. We will also use photography skills to create artwork in the style of David Hockney.

As Mathematicians we will use our  understanding of place value to create historical timelines in chronological order.
