YEAR 6GA Miss Gale 2021 - 2022
Welcome to Year 6GA

Our PE days this half term are :
Monday (outside with the City coach- please ensure you have joggers and a jumper).
The PE kit is either plain blue or black jogging pants / leggings, a plain white t-shirt and a jumper . Where possible, we are asking if the children could wear black trainers.
Please encourage your child to practice their spellings and timestables each day.
Homework will be sent home each Friday and will be due in the following Wednesday.
Please ensure that your child is bringing their reading book and water bottle every day.
Our topic this half term is Global Trade
Would an Eskimo buy ice?
As a Historian, I can:
Identify how trade has developed through history on a time line.
As a Geographer, I can:
Use an atlas to locate countries.
Understand economic activity including trade links and the distribution of natural resources including natural resources, minerals energy, food and water.
Compare the differences through the study of human and physical geography in America and the UK.
As a Scientist, I can:
Classify living things in to groups based on observable characteristics and explain reasons why.
As an Artist / Designer, I can:
Generate, develop, model and communicate their ideas through discussion, annotated Sketches.
Select from and use a wider range of materials and components, including construction materials, textiles and ingredients, according to their functional properties and aesthetic Qualities.
Evaluate their ideas and products against their own design criteria and consider the views of others to improve their work
The British value we will be focusing on is mutual respect.
As a Rights & Respecting school we will be looking at article 32 "Governments must protect children from work that is dangerous or might harm their health or education".
Our inffluentiial person is ......Dame Anita Roddick, DBE (23 October 1942 – 10 September 2007)
She was a British businesswoman, human rights activist and environmental campaigner, best known as the founder of The Body Shop
