Please see below new guidance we have received from

“The Department of Health and Social Care, NHS Test and Trace, and Public Health England issued a  letter to school and college leaders providing clarity on when students and staff should be tested for coronavirus (please open hyperlink)

It is vital that only if children or staff develop symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) – a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – do educational settings ask them to self-isolate and recommend they get a test. The NHS Test and Trace system is fully up and running, but capacity must be protected for those with symptoms of the virus”.

11.05.2020 - Update – School closure due to Covid 19

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope this update finds you and your family all safe and well.

I am writing to you following the Prime Minister’s address last night.  You will have heard that it is the intention for Primary Schools to widen the group attending from the 1st of June at the earliest.  This is to include pupils from Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 initially.

Please appreciate that we too have only just heard this announcement and at this stage we are unable to answer your questions or give any further detail about this matter.  We are awaiting more information from the government about what this means for our school.  In the shorter term nothing has presently changed and we remain open only for Key Worker pupils.

I will be in touch with you all as soon as possible once we have further information on moving forward.  As always the safety of our pupils, families and staff remain the highest priority.

Kind regards,

Mrs A.Wadsworth

21.04.2020 -

Dear Parents, Carers and Children,

Welcome back to a rather unusual Summer term.  I hope that you and your families are all keeping safe and well during this very difficult time that we are all experiencing during the Coronavirus.

I wanted to say a big thank you to all of you who are supporting your children to do their home learning and to the children who are doing it.  Well done to you all!

Please remember that we are very happy whatever types of learning you are involved in at home.  You may be learning through gardening, cooking, sewing, crafting and other household activities.  You may be on line using a range of resources or completing work on paper, be it maths questions or writing stories or a diary.  All of these options are fantastic and will keep your mind alert and busy.  Please do remember that your teachers are all setting work daily and will look at work completed and comment on next steps for you.  We are really happy when you do these tasks, even if you only manage to do one of these each day that would be great.  If you are managing to do all of these please keep up the good work.  If you are doing different things your teacher would also like to hear about these, so why not send them a message about the learning you are doing and show off all your talents.  The main thing we would really like you to do is to do some reading every day.  This is so important and will really help you to be ready whenever school does return to normal.

Two new sites are now on line that are being promoted by the Government and do look very good. They are BBC Bitesize and Oak National Academy.  They have daily lessons for all age groups.  We are also working on a new set of work for each year group on paper. We will let you know when it is ready.

We are also aware that in this difficult time it may not always be easy to do your work and you may need time to just relax and play.  This is fine too, we want you to be as happy as you can be during this difficult time so a balance of activities is great.  It may also be difficult for parents juggling work, time for yourself and time to teach your children. Please just do what you can each day and keep weekends and holidays as time for your family where you can.

We do know at present that there are issues with the Free School Meal scheme, this is a National scheme and we are doing everything we can to support this working fully. Please be patient with this and I’m sure it will be sorted very soon. The helpline for the company who distribute the vouchers is 0333 400 5932. There is also a Q&A guide on the school website with further information.

Please remember that we are here to help you.  Please get in touch with your class teacher or phone us on the school number or email us if you think there is anything that we can help with.

Take care, stay safe and well.
Best Wishes,
Mrs Wadsworth

20.04.2020 -

Dear Year 6 Parents and Carers

I hope that you are all keeping well and that all the children are coping well at home.  I know that the school closure is particularly difficult for our Year 6 pupils with the missing of SAT's and all that comes at this special time at the end of the primary phase of school.

As we presently do not know when school will reopen and if this will be in the Summer term we are not able to plan as of yet for our Year 6 leavers.  Once we know about this and what restrictions we are working within we will then plan what we can do for our Y6 children.  If the £20 collected from parents is not used this will of course be refunded to parents once school is fully open and it is safe for it to be collected from us.  We will update you on this when we can.

The majority of the money collected from the fund raising activities was used towards the Robinwood trip and again any money left will be used to provide something for our Y6 pupils if at all possible.

Stay safe and well and we will be in touch with more information as we have it.

Best Wishes

Andrea Wadsworth
